Pecan Development celebrates the topping-out ceremony for the first phase of construction of the Wohnen an der Neumühle residential project in Oberursel-Stierstadt. The exterior and interior shells of the first 36 residential units in two building sections are now complete. The project includes 16 subsidised apartments, with the remaining residential units being marketed for sale as condominium (freehold) apartments.
The 36 apartments currently under construction in the eastern section of the new mixed-use Quartier Neumühle are scheduled for completion in Spring 2026. The 16 subsidised one- to three-bed apartments will be leased in coordination with Stadt Oberursel as part of its Middle Income Earners funding programme. Information on the opportunities available for those wishing to register their interest in these apartments will be issued by the Stadt Oberursel Housing Office and Pecan Development in due course.
All apartments are wheelchair accessible and serviced by a lift, and therefore accommodate age-appropriate living solutions. All buildings will be constructed in accordance with the BEG Efficiency House 55 EE standard, i.e. with a focus on sustainable construction and resource and energy efficiency. This means that a high proportion of energy demand will be met by renewable energy sources: heating will be supplied by sustainable air heat pumps, and extensive photovoltaic systems and green roofs will be installed.
Covering an area of approximately 30,000 sq m, Quartier Neumühle will offer five multi-family dwellings with around 80 apartments, alongside 19 detached, semi-detached and terraced housing units. Land is available for commercial and community uses. With construction already underway, around half of the detached properties have already been sold. The Ketteler-La Roche-Schule, a training facility for educators operated by the Diocese of Limburg and assigned to Quartier Neumühle, has already been completed and began operating in April. The new educational institute, with an area of almost 3,600 sq m, offers modern teaching and seminar facilities for around 320 trainees.
Other businesses are being attracted to the neighbourhood. These include two firms intending to open offices in Oberursel, having signed a purchase contract for a plot of land in April.
Surrounded by extensive green space, directly on the Urselbach and not far from Frankfurt am Main, Quartier Neumühle is a new neighbourhood for living, working and learning. Energy efficient and sustainable, traffic-calmed and with generous garden plots, this modern neighbourhood is an intergenerational space.
An attractive sales suite has been set up on site to provide information on the available apartments and houses.
In the words of Markus Brod, Managing Director of Pecan Development GmbH: “It is wonderful to see how Quartier Neumühle is developing on schedule. This topping-out ceremony for the first apartment block is a wonderful, touching moment for all who are involved in the project, from its conception and design to its construction. My thanks go to the construction company Dressler Bau and its staff. We are creating a vibrant, intergenerational mix of living, working and learning in the natural surroundings of the Urselbachaue. The Ketteler-La Roche-Schule and new housing will gradually fill the neighbourhood with life.”
